The site
- FRONT GARDEN contained two very large
red river gums, plus a large date palm.
It was a difficult site, as one gum crossed the
front boundary
- REAR GARDEN previously landscaped
because of installation of a lap pool.
However some plants were unsuitable in a western
situation and have been replaced.
REQUIREMENTS -
the front garden did not look finished, and we felt
it required some fencing. The date palm had a large amount of roots showing
which looked untidy, and plants were not put in any particular order.
Kerrie drew up a plan for us and it was
underway within a few weeks.
The fence was designed to match the balcony of the
house, and the date palm had a matching wall built around the base to match the
fence, this in turn turned the palm in to a real feature.
All plants are water-wise, and although
the job was finished within days of a heatwave, nearly all have survived.
We are very pleased with the result, and have an
interesting
front garden with some nice colour contrasts.
Thank you Kerrie.

Large Urban Garden with pool at Mawson Lakes
"We engaged Kerrie to completely re design our double size back yard. She listened to our concerns over the existing landscaping that we had inherited and our ideas, hopes and dreams for our new garden. We found Kerrie to have a warm and friendly personality with a focus on service, communication and building relationships. We appreciated her refreshing approach to design and building for the client, the garden they want. Kerrie constantly offered us design solutions, options, advice and guidance from the initial consultation through to the finishing touches and it shows. Her ability to be flexible and to work with us as our ideas evolved was greatly appreciated throughout the 12month complex project.
Kerrie designed, quoted and liaison with consultants, council, an architect and builder. She also coordinated the contractors through to competition. Kerrie also commissioned 3 unique mosaic features works of art. She sourced, selected and supplied pots, lighting, and fans for under the additional new pergola, plants, pavers, the colours and finishes for all elements of our personal project.
Our garden setting includes an architecturally designed outdoor bathroom, personally designed large concrete in ground pool with tiled mosaic feature, poolside outdoor lounge room, full outdoor kitchen with wood oven and dining entertaining area, extensive light weight rendered walling, designer shed, 2 Mosaic walled water features, massive paving and boutique lawn areas. The end result is a very personal, private and elegant value adding garden setting that honours our cultural heritage, the architecture of our home and our taste. It meets all lifestyle needs and is a joy to look out into from our family living areas and a pleasure to live and play in.
I highly recommend Kerrie’s profession services and skills to you. We found working with Kerrie to be a productive, successful and enjoyable experience, thank you."

"We
chose Kerrie to design our new garden to compliment our energy efficient
courtyard home after having met her at the eco-homes exhibition in 2005. After
learning that she was a founding member of the
Mediterranean
Gardens
of South Australia Association and liking her on our initial meeting, we asked
her to look at the site with us and discuss possibilities.
She had
some great ideas for our very small site, and we liked her approach and her
sense of humour. From then on we
were impressed with her enthusiasm, vision and ideas, and her willingness to
adapt these to ours. She worked very
hard on her brief, and stayed in touch as we worked things out (I am a gardener
but with little knowledge of
Mediterranean
plants).
As the
house was completed we were overseas, remaining in touch with Kerrie weekly as
she worked on the site. We also
commissioned her to organise the decks, patio and pergolas, also done in our
absence.
Planting
was done on our return and we are excited by the result.
The hard surfaces and structure were built to a high standard and we look
forward to the maturing of our garden believing that it is – as Kerrie said it
would be – a work of art".

"Kerrie
developed our garden with us in mind. She talked to us about our lifestyle
and the things and colours that we enjoyed. She carefully incorporated
existing plants and considered watering and maintenance. The result? A very
personal, welcoming and easy to maintain garden that also has a huge
"WOW" factor".

Kerrie
has been a very good friend of mine for many years now and it was a pleasure to
employ her as our Garden Designer for our front garden in Rostrevor in the
autumn of 2006. While our property
did present some problems, as it was a sloping sight with heavy clay, I knew
Kerrie would do a fantastic job because she is so passionate about what she does
– if a problem presents itself she will do whatever is needed to overcome it.
Her
attention to detail, her honesty and above all her integrity made her a delight
to work with. As an added bonus it gave our friendship a new dimension to have
shared this project together. I have
no hesitation in recommending Kerrie to anyone who wants to add beauty and charm
to their home.

Commendation for Kerrie Griffin-Moore, Garden Designer
We have just completed the full landscaping of all the outside areas of our suburban property at Seaford, South Australia. The Design for the landscaping was carried out by Kerrie Griffin-Moore Garden Design & Consultations of Stirling, South Australia, whom we chose from an internet search, followed by an initial consultation.
The landscaping was the final project of a major upgrade of a 15 year old property that we purchased early in 2008. Our requirements were a landscaping design and implementation that would be suitable for a property 400m from the sea and would complement the building upgrades to our property. The property has an average size front area, a relatively large back area and a new pergola extending from the rear of the house suitable for outdoor social functions.
Prior to the first interview we had downloaded a statement of ‘Services and Fees' that was available on the website. This document clearly sets out the procedures for establishing a design and the fee structure leading up to the presentation of a design plan.
Kerrie Griffin-Moore is an easy conversationalist with a skilled professional approach. She is a good listener and very creative with her proposals. We had no hesitation in agreeing that she prepare a concept plan.
At the presentation of the concept plan Kerrie clearly set out her design objectives for our garden areas. We were given ample time to ask questions and make suggestions, and appreciated her easy yet professional manner.
The final plan was presented to us about a month after the initial interview. The plan set out the design structure and position of all the trees, shrubs and plants. We found the plan very comprehensive and easy to read. Moreover it had many creative features.
During the actual landscaping work Kerrie visited each week as well as making frequent phone contacts with the landscaping team.
Kerrie has transformed the outside areas of our property from barren wilderness into delightful garden areas. The attention to detail is a feature of the landscaping and the high standard of Kerrie's design is reflected in its implementation.
Kerrie Griffin-Moore is a very gifted garden designer, and we have pleasure in strongly recommending her to anyone seeking to add quality and value to their property.
Yours sincerely,
Bernice and Graham Elford
